Thanksgiving Time

Here's our little Indian. His name is Eagle Feather. They made those shirts at school and we had a Thanksgiving Feast in their classroom. As far as ours at home; we had it yesterday with Cody's parents. We were originally going over to East TX, but Cody is on mid-shift (11pm-7am). He wasn't up for going over, so his parents came here. We were not traditional since we had a ham for Thanksgiving; it was still yummy. I was excited because I made homemade cranberry sauce for the first time and it was good. Cody requested his favorite -- pumpkin pie. It ends up we have another pumpkin pie guy in the family too. Dillon ate 2 pieces! I wasn't too upset about not getting to go over to East TX, because I was focusing on what I do have --- a husband/dad here with us. I thought of all the families in the military that the mom or dad is gone. So, I was very thankful on Thanksgiving to have Cody here with us even if he is working crazy hours. I am also very thankful for our little miracle -- Dillon!

Dillon's First Tooth Out

Last Sunday morning about 1:50 in the morning we were awakened to our little guy crying saying his tooth was loose. I said, "Dil, it's not time for that yet." Then I proceeded to go ahead and feel his tooth, just to humor myself while half asleep. To my surprise, it WAS loose. We told him not to worry about it and go back to sleep for now. So, Dad tucked him back into bed for the night.

Later that morning we went to church and spent the rest of our day preparing him for it to come out. He was not excited at all. It finally happened when he was eating supper. He cried for just a minute and then he was ok. After it was all over he was excited about the Tooth Fairy coming. He was really concerned about her and all the details that went along with it.

Then he got inspired to go outside with Dad and hunt for bugs, putting them into a jar.

Stay tuned for the next loose tooth. The one beside it is a little loose now......

Girls Day

Dillon and I were still able to go over to TX on Friday night. He spent the night with Cody's parents (his first time to spend the night with someone). I stayed with my parents. The girls (Mom, Christina, Jennifer, & I), with the babies went to Canton Saturday. For those who don't know what Canton is ......it's a town in TX that has the world's largest trade days Thursday through Sunday before the first Monday of every month. In the 1850s when the circuit judge stopped in Canton on the first Monday of each month to hold court, people from across Van Zandt and surrounding counties came to the Courthouse square to watch court proceedings and take care of business. Many brought their own goods to sell or trade, including produce, farm equipment and livestock. I just couldn't resist this purse, especially since my dear Dad gave us all money for the trip. Even though it really tires you out, we had a really good time just being together and plus I got 6 Christmas gifts too. Also, got a FREE lunch from Mom from a local place called Martha's (we even had a huge piece of chocolate pie too- yum!). Thanks Mom!

I got this swag to go across this mirror in the dining room as well. That mirror use to be a length mirror for our bedroom, but it broke somehow. As you can see I like stars.

Dad is home sick

Well, Cody didn't get to go hunting Saturday, because he ended up sick on Friday. Yesterday, he also didn't go to work. He went in this morning and they took one look and said "Go home". He hardly got any sleep last night. Dillon is out of school today for Election Day. They set up booths in the schools for local elections here. So, they had some quality time together this morning.
